Dr. Lisa grew up with The Furniture Doctors so it was not surprising that she joined her parents full time in 1998. As shop foreman she also oversees work flow, quality control and ordering supplies. She heads up our finish removal procedures. Lisa is a master craftswoman in duplicating carving and the fabrication of missing pieces using an epoxy putty and has become an expert in chair re-gluing, structural repairs, touch-up, and finish application.

Dr. Jackie is our founding co-owner and actually started The Furniture Doctors in 1978. Her masters degree from the University of Idaho in industrial arts provided foundational knowledge in finishing technology. Jackie specializes in finishing procedures, cosmetic repairs, touch-up and custom color matching, often working with local interior designers. Each week finds her utilizing her skills at various locations as she oversees our on-site crews.

John in upholstery

John is our expert upholsterer with 25+ years of experience, and has been with our team since October 2012.  His portfolio includes not only furniture but also marine, auto, recliner repair, and structural repairs to your upholstered furniture.  He also has experience with animal hides allowing our clients to customize their unique pieces.

Sollee is also in our upholstery department and is a stickler for detail. Reviving furniture and restoring both its beauty and functionality makes all the hard work worth it. Sollee can reupholster a piece from top to bottom, mend seams, zippers or cushions, or even restyle your furniture to give it new life.  Sollee has been with us since October 2011.

Cammy joined our upholstery team with 5 years experience as a seamstress. She loves saving old furniture. Her Clothing and Textile Degree from the U of I will be handy when matching patterned fabric for recovering her favorite Victorian furniture.

GeneGene joined our team in October of 2014.  With a life time of experience in woodworking, Gene's favorite projects include re-caning and turning new spindles on the lathe.  Gene's best challenge is finding a solution to the complex woodworking projects.

Adam joined our team in September 2014 and works in our finishing department.  His years of vast woodworking experience have really helped our team.  If it needs to be stained or finished, Adam is our guy.  Bringing out the natural beauty of the wood is one of Adam's favorite parts of his work.

Robert is a guy of many interests, having taken classes in biology and sociology from North Idaho College. When working in the shop he enjoys watching the progress of projects from start to finish, particularly a waterfall dresser we just restored. His smile and friendly attitude fit well with the rest of the team.

Martha works in our front office and has been part of the team since March 2012.  Everything from answering the phone to helping folks when they bring in a piece of furniture, she is there to help.  Martha's favorite part of her work is seeing all the unique pieces of furniture that come to the shop and watching them transform.

Lindsey grew up in the cabinet and upholstery industry and feels at home helping Martha in the front as our office and marketing assistant. She looks forward to improving how customers experience us online and providing more answers to their furniture questions.

Dr. Paul is our on-call seasoned consultant.  Through the past 30 years he has become a structural expert. His college coursework in engineering and architecture has provided him with the knowledge and ability to fabricate new pieces and provide structural stability wherever needed. He has become proficient in repairs of all kinds including re-gluing and re-veneering.

We are often joined by a number of others that quite often answer the call when their services are needed to complete projects in a timely manner.

Although all of our doctors have their own areas of expertise we are always helping each other and acquiring training to provide the best service and achieve the desired outcome our customers have come to count on.
